Explorr is a new three-day outdoor endurance festival bringing running, gravel cycling and adventure to Banchory.

Taking place from 28–30 August 2026, the festival combines competitive outdoor events with live music, athlete talks, films, street food, an outdoor expo and a lively community atmosphere at the Event Village in King George V Park.

Runners can choose from 5km, 10km, half-marathon and marathon routes through the forests, trails and rolling gravel tracks surrounding Banchory. Cyclists can take on a 120km Gravel Stage Race featuring four timed stages across Royal Deeside, while Saturday evening’s Charity Night Hike heads through Scolty Woodland towards Scolty Tower.

The Event Village is free to attend and open to participants, spectators, families and the wider community. Alongside the sporting programme, visitors can enjoy live music, guest speakers, food and drink, children’s cycling activities and an outdoor adventure expo.

Whether you’re competing, supporting someone or simply looking for an energetic festival weekend in Banchory, Explorr offers three days of sport, outdoor culture and Scottish scenery.

The official programme confirms the Event Village opens at noon on Friday, with the Gravel Stage Race on Saturday and running events on Sunday.
